Oil Paintings Gallery of Original Art
Welcome to this collection of oil paintings. The art oil paintings in this oil paintings gallery are all original paintings by A K Whitehead, an artist working only in oils and a member of the Society of All Artists. The works in this oil paintings gallery are either canvass paintings or painted on board. All are offered with FREE FRAMES, HANGINGS AND DELIVERY
Only the originals of these oil paintings are offered for sale and no copies are available for sale in the belief that most people would prefer an original oil painting which only they possess, rather than one of a multitude of copies possessed by that many other people. Moreover, the oil paintings by this self taught artist are offered at realistic and competitive prices.
Of course, only providing original oil paintings means there is somewhat less for sale than on sites which offer copies. But the advantage is that, through this oil paintings gallery, the purchaser does receive unique works of art executed either as canvass paintings in the original oils or art oil paintings on board.
Each oil painting comes:
1. with free packaging;
2. complete with a free frame plus
3. free fastenings, so that every picture is ready to hang, and
4. in the UK, with free postage.
If you wish, you can Go to the Gallery immediately from here.
The paintings for sale here are currently grouped into five categories:
landscapes in oil,
waterscapes in oil
seascapes in oil,
snowscapes in oil. and
still life in oil.

Approximate sizes for the oil paintings with and without their frames are given in inches.
Oil has been the pre-eminent material used by outstanding artists for hundreds of years and is arguably the most versatile of painting mediums. Oil paintings have often been executed on canvass or wood supports. While canvass still remains very popular today, new materials like MDF provide great advantages over timber as a support. MDF is rigid and quite strong and does not warp; it has a very smooth surface, especially useful for glazing but, with the use of grounds (not least acrylics), the artist can choose to sand down the surface or leave it with a "tooth".
The support on which each image here is painted is either canvass with a timber frame or on board (usually MDF which is an excellent support and increasing in popularity as a proved and very stable artistic resource).
In each case the oil painting has been varnished to protect its surface.
